Although this page is off to a late start., we are working on it to catch up with the first two months of news. Links that have been added in the most recent page update are noted by . Links to domain name news from years 1998 through 2002 are now in the Archives section of this website.

We commend those online news organizations that make their archives freely available for sufficient time to allow historians and chroniclers to catch up. The news links below are published in reverse chronological order.

The Washington Post forgot to renew to renew WASHPOST.COM, causing its email system to crash for a day, but its WASHINGTONPOST.COM division was not affected by the lapse.

Web war over; 'cyberpirate' raises the white flag; Tyszka agrees to sell domain names to Donnelly, by James Wensits (South Bend Tribune)
Political consultant T. Nicholas Tyszka agreed to sell to Democratic congressional contender Joe Donnelly three domain names he had registered-- DONNELLYFORCONGRESS.COM, JOEDONNELLY2004.COM and DONNELLY2004.COM for the cost of registering them.

Brand owners can go for .HK domain names this month (Out-law.com)
The Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation will launch second level .HK domain registrations in May, with priority being given to trade mark holders and those who already hold third level .HK domains.
